Reese H. Hays
Reese H. Hays was born and raised in Salina, Kansas and moved to Lawrence in 2003 to attend Law School. Mr. Hays has a Bachelors of Science in Political Science from Fort Hays State University and a Juris Doctor from Washburn School of Law and has spent the past six years serving his country and fellow citizens as a government attorney. He has been a member of the Kansas Bar since 2006 and has been an active member in his community by participating in the Topeka Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association and the Douglas County's Judge Hugh Means American Inn of Court.
Mr. Hays has dedicated his professional career to government service. Mr. Hays spent five years on Active Duty with the United States Air Force where he was assigned to Maxwell Air Force Base and Offutt Air Force Base. He spent a year in Iraq advising Iraqi Judges and Law Enforcement Officers to ensure the rule of law was protected. After serving on Active Duty with the United States Air Force, Mr. Hays has continued his government service as the Chief Litigation Counsel for the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and as a member of the Kansas Air National Guard.
Mr. Hays’ strong background and experience in government service makes him a well qualified candidate to serve on the Lawrence City Commission.
